Assignment #4

  1. Anthony,

These look pretty good. Please post static images as well. You should also take a look at the Bregenz Open Air Theatre, in Austria. It is a performance venue that has a seasonal stage that changes with every play/season.

  2. I do agree that there should be static images, so that we can spend some time looking at them and comparing them from one analysis to the next. (Geometry to natural light...) This cannot be done with the pure video format.

  3. Hector,
I have looked at the Bregenz Open Air Theatre and it works very well as a typology for the site I am using, but due to lack of drawing documents it makes it very hard to analyze. As well as the seasonal/show based structure implications make it difficult to use as well. I will be posting static images of all videos very soon thanks for the advice.

  4. I doubt you will find any drawings for the theater. However, given that your site is in a very peculiar location I think that using the waterfront in the same manner that the lake behind the theater is used will add a very nice touch to your project.

Incidentally, a water stage will have many dynamic backdrops for different plays/applications. Remember, in front of that site you have Governor's Island, The financial district, The Verrazano bridge, etc.
